At the heart of Dourron OB/Gyn Associates, PC are our physicians. Our board-certified obstetricians/gynecologists are always ready to personally oversee your pregnancy or address your gynecological concerns.
Maria L. Dourron, M.D.
Dr. Maria Dourron was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She graduated medical school in her hometown and then did her internship at St. Francis Hospital in Miami, Florida. Her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology was here in Atlanta, Georgia at the Crawford W. Long Hospital of Emory University. She is board certified by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Dourron has practiced medicine in Atlanta since 1972. She is a native speaker of Spanish as well as fluent in English. Two of her five sons have since joined the practice to continue the Dourron tradition of providing excellent healthcare. Dr. Maria Dourron recently retired in 2005 but returned in 2006.
Rodney M. Dourron, M.D., FACOG
Dr. Rodney M. Dourron was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He is the eldest of five sons of Dr. Maria Dourron. He graduated medical school at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. He interned in General Surgery at the Medical College of New York affiliated program at the Stamford Hospital in Stamford, Connecticut. His residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology was done at the Yale University School of Medicine affiliated program at Bridgeport Hospital in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Dr. Rodney is a fellow of and board certified by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He is fluent in Spanish. In addition to general ob/gyn services, Dr. Rodney Dourron specializes in laparoscopic surgery and the prevention of cancer.
Robert P. Dourron, M.D., FACOG
Dr. Robert Dourron, an Atlanta native, is the fourth son of Dr. Maria Dourron and a graduate of the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. He interned in Obstetrics & Gynecology in the Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, Michigan and his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology was done at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Robert is board certified by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He is fluent in Spanish. Dr. Dourron actively seeks to enhance the practice with technologically advanced services and procedures. One of these is Essure®, a non-surgical form of sterilization that is performed in the office. Apart from the busy schedule he maintains at our offices, he also volunteers his time at the Grant Park Clinic for needy and underserved patients and has participated in a Pro-Health International medical mission to provide free ob/gyn services to impoverished areas of Nigeria.
